Character Classes in Unreal Engine

This week we have been working on adding the character classes. Each character class will change how the character acts in-game and what weapon they will have when spawned. Class select will happen when after the game is created but before the game has begun. We have implemented 4 classes as follows:

  • Powerhouse
  • Stealth
  • Ambush
  • Strategic
WIP Character class select for World War Sport: Dodgeball in Unreal 4

The UI is still a work in progress but the character class select mechanic is now in-place. Each class will provide the character with different stats from character speed, strength of weapon and what their perk is.  Below is a selection of some of the weaponry in World War Sport: Dodgeball. 

Over the next few weeks you may notice a potential slow down on progress due to us undertaking some external teaching work, but will still continue development in our spare time. We are committed to the weekly blog so will continue to post here, even if there is not as much new content ready to show. In the next blog post you can expect to see more Hello World

Calling all musicians! We are beginning to think about what audio we want in our game, and an option we like is the idea of including locally produced music in a playlist which the user will be able to flick through while playing.
